Unlimited Learning is a 501 3C organization started over 10 years ago by several residents who felt that the area needed high quality programming combined with a social component particularly for retired and the soon-to-be retired adults.

The organization was conceived and is run by volunteer members with an annual membership fee. All programming is open to any non-members for a small fee per event.

Continuing programs occur monthly on various topics the second Tuesday of the month.

"Great Decisions" is a series of DVD's and discussion supported by the Foreign Policy Institute and occurs the third Monday of the month. A fee is charged for the FSI materials.

Additional programs and small interest groups occur as planned, such as:

  • smaller interest group trips to the Metropolitan Opera virtual events in HD in St. Cloud;
  • the "absent narrative" of native peoples in Minnesota, supported with a grant from the Minnesota Humanities Commission;
  • field trips to the theater in the Twin Cities;
  • an annual night of fine dining.

Programming and promotion of these programs are entirely executed by active volunteers who collaborate on timely issues and speakers that stimulate and inform.

Our attendees (members and non-members) come from a radius of 50 plus miles. Our speakers generally donate their time.

Mission: To provide quality and broad-based learning opportunities for the Lakes Area residents with emphasis on mature adults.
